Thanks for this post, I followed your link from sitesketch where I was doing some plugin research for my new blog. I am going to go and get the broken link checker plugin now on your recommendation.

Hi Karena, sorry for the delayed reply. gTranslate is the obvious choice for automatic translations. I haven’t tried relevanssi but I have used “search everything” plugin before. I think the default WordPress search is good enough now.

Hi Fred, yes it will be a good complement. Besides backing up wp-content, it also does malware scan and makes it easy to migrate or restore.

I didn’t know Backupbuddy plugin.
I think a good complement of wp-dbmanager.
What do you think about that?

Thank you for this list! I am already using most of these but it was great to see a recommendation on a few others I should be adding. What do you think about gTranslate for automatic translations and Relevanssi for searching?

Hi Susan, I have listed plugins based on my requirements and experience. Caching plugins are useful, ofcourse.

I’m surprised I didn’t see any caching plugins listed…like W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache.
